The Names

mask & role

Persona is a Latin word for a type of mask that was worn by stage actors at that time, which represented their character.  Nowadays, persona can refer to the characters in any dramatic or literary work.  But it has another special meaning in literary studies, where it refers to the voice of a particular kind of character—the character who is also the narrator within a literary work written from the first-person point of view. Finally, in psychology, a persona is the “mask” (the personality) that you present to the world, the role you play in public.

Concept: This perfume represents Dalal’s true essence and smell, and anyone who puts it on can become DalaliD. And because DalaliD is always changing, and because she is multifaceted, people who spray this perfume on can continually access different parts of themselves and bring them to light.

Aegis is a shield or breastplate emblematic of majesty that was associated with Zeus and Athena. The English term now means protection, backing, or support of a particular person or organization.

Concept: This is our winter perfume. When we spray it on we feel all the layers of protection shrouding us from the cold, filling us up with warmth. It feels like adding another layer of clothing, like a coat, gloves, or a hat. We spray it on, and like Zeus’s shield, we feel safe in our own skin.

Glory & reputation
Kleos is often translated to “renown”, or “glory”. It is related to the word “to hear” and carries
the implied meaning of “what others hear about you”. A Greek hero earns kleos through
accomplishing great deeds.

Concept: This perfume is so powerful. You put it on and become the talk of the town. Everyone
wants to know how you became so successful.
